Year 3 celebrated National Poetry Day on 5th October. The theme this year is ‘ Refuge’. Year 3 listened to and enjoyed a number of poems. We looked at a poem called ‘My Treasures’ written by Kate Wakeling. It explores how we can find refuge in the things we collect. The children responded to the poem by answering a number of questions. They then went on to plan their own poem thinking about what they have collected or treasure most.
