Structures: Constructing a Windmill
Year 1 designed and made their own windmills.
The objectives covered were to:
- Follow design criteria to meet the needs of a user.
- Make a stable structure.
- Make functioning sails/blades that attach to the supporting structure.
- Improve their windmill.
The children first investigated windmills to look at different designs and structures.
They then used this knowledge to design their own.
The children then made their windmills.
