The children at St Joseph’s took part in Safer Internet Day which took place on Tuesday, 6 February 2024.

The theme this year was, ‘Inspiring change? Making a difference, managing influence and navigating change online’.

Here are some of the activities the children carried out in class.

  • Participated in ‘Be Internet Legends – online assembly.’
  • Used the Interland  APP. This is an adventure-packed online game that promotes key lessons of digital citizenship and safety.
  • Making online safety posters.
  • Whole class discussions around online safety.
  • Listening to stories that promote online safety.

At St Josephs’ we use the resource of the Be Internet Legends which is a programme designed to help children become safer and more confident online explorers.

Be Internet Legends is formed of five core pillars of internet safety:

  • Think Before You Share (Be Internet Sharp)
  • Check It’s For Real (Be Internet Alert)
  • Protect Your Stuff (Be Internet Secure)
  • Respect Each Other (Be Internet Kind)
  • When In Doubt, Discuss (Be Internet Brave)
