Year 3 visited Derwenthaugh Park. They used kick sampling to collect invertebrates and worked in small teams to identify what they found. They had a picnic in the sun and then had a go at balsam bashing! We had a great day.
Year 3 worked in pairs to dissect a flower. They identified each part of the flower and went on to learn about the function of each part. They went on to create a life cycle of a flowering plant and demonstarted excellent team work.

The children enjoyed learning about the water cycle and they created a diagram to demonstrate their understanding. They went on to write their own story of a water droplet including key vocabulary.
Year 3 had a special visit from the recently hatched chicks. The live eggs arrived in Early Years last week and the younger children observed them hatching. Year 3 were so happy to meet them before they return to the farm.
